How do you build a wine cellar under stairs?
To design an understairs wine rack system, you would need the height on the left, right, and width to work out the angles. As all understairs projects are different sizes it is very difficult to offer products that can be purchased off the shelf as the stair angles vary.
If you require a more decorative look to your wine racks, they can be built with solid oak or solid pine.
One option is to try our new wine rack quote, planner and estimator. This is new AI development trained to guide you on what we can build and how much it might cost.
Our wine racks are made in our factory in Derbyshire by our experienced team of staff.
We have 2 main types of racks.
The basic ones are made from wood and metal and the wood can be stained to various colours. These wine racks can be made to hold standard bottles, half bottles, magnum bottles and we also make racks which will hold the extra large champagne bottle such as Bollinger bottles.
The second style is our all wood wine racks which can be made from solid pine or solid oak and these are designed to make up complete cellars. The wood can be stained in various colours.
We’ll initially ask for dimensions of the cellar or space available and have a conversation about your storage requirements.

Glazing for understairs wine racking
A & W Moore Wine Racks UK, who are bespoke wine cellar specialists, can offer two types of glazing for your under stairs space.
Option 1 Traditional solid oak frame with glazed panels
The solid oak frame can be stained to a variety of colours and then is sealed with a furniture lacquer. The glazing for these units can be 8mm toughened glass or if a cellar conditioner is to be used, they can be double glazed. If the double glazed option is chosen, the door will have a seal on all four edges.
Frameless Glazing Option
Both of these options are available as a complete package with our bespoke understairs wine racking. Please contact our team for a free design and quotation for your understairs wine cellar/racking project.
