Wine Cellar, Wine Room & Wine Wall Extras

A bespoke wine storage project can be as simple or as comprehensive as you want it to be. Alongside the wine racking itself, we can incorporate features such as LED lighting, glazing, wine cellar air conditioning, integrated wine fridges and specialist storage options.

Some extras are primarily about creating a beautiful feature in your home. Others can play an important role in creating the right environment for storing wine. We can help you decide what is worthwhile for your particular project, whether you are planning an under-stairs wine rack, wine wall or complete wine room or cellar.

LED Wine Rack Lighting

Lighting can completely change the appearance of a wine wall or wine room. Rather than simply lighting the room, carefully positioned LEDs can highlight bottles, timber finishes, display rows and architectural features within the racking.

Depending on the design, lighting can be incorporated around the racking, underneath shelves or within individual display areas, with the cabling and components concealed wherever possible.

Glazing & Glass Doors

Glazing can turn wine storage into a striking architectural feature. It is particularly popular for under-stairs wine displays, enclosed wine walls and dedicated wine rooms, where the collection remains visible while being separated from the surrounding room.

Glass may also form an important part of a temperature-controlled installation, where the wine storage area needs to operate as a more controlled environment. The right solution will depend on the shape of the space, the type of doors required and whether refrigeration or climate control is being incorporated.

Wine Cellar Air Conditioning & Climate Control

If you are creating a dedicated environment for storing wine, specialist cooling or climate control may be worth considering. This is different from simply placing a domestic air-conditioning unit in the room.

The appropriate system depends on factors such as the size of the space, construction of the room, insulation, glazing and how the wine will be stored. Under-stairs installations, wine rooms and larger cellars can all require very different solutions.

We can discuss the requirements at the design stage so that cooling, ventilation, power supplies and the wine racking itself are considered together rather than as separate additions later.

Integrated Wine Fridges

A wine fridge can be incorporated directly into bespoke wine racking, allowing chilled wine storage to sit naturally alongside the main collection.

This can be particularly useful if you want to keep white wine, sparkling wine or ready-to-drink bottles at a different temperature without cooling the entire wine wall or room.

Wine fridges can be designed into the project from the outset, and in many cases we can also work around a suitable appliance that you already own or intend to purchase. We simply need the exact dimensions and installation requirements before the racking design is finalised.

Display Shelves & Feature Bottle Storage

Not every bottle needs to disappear into conventional storage. Bespoke racking can include display rows and feature areas that present selected bottles more prominently.

This can work particularly well with lighting and glazing, allowing favourite bottles, labels or parts of a collection to become part of the overall interior design.

Wine Case & Crate Storage

If part of your collection remains in wooden cases or original packaging, we can incorporate dedicated case storage into a bespoke wine room or wine wall.

Combining individual bottle storage with case storage can make larger collections easier to organise while adding visual variety to the finished design.

Electrical Work & Project Preparation

Extras such as lighting, wine fridges and climate control often need to be considered before the racking is installed. Planning electrical supplies, concealed wiring and other preparation work early can produce a much cleaner finished installation.

This is particularly important when converting an existing cupboard, opening up an under-stairs area or creating a completely new wine room. We can identify the preparation required during the design and survey stage.

Other Bespoke Options

Because our wine racks are made specifically for the space, there is considerable flexibility beyond the main options above.

  • Storage for Champagne and larger-format bottles
  • Double-depth bottle storage
  • Presentation and angled display rows
  • Wine case and crate storage
  • Shelving and display areas
  • Plinths and decorative finishing details
  • Different timber finishes and stains
  • Integration around existing appliances or architectural features

If there is something particular you want to incorporate, show us the space and tell us what you are trying to achieve. Bespoke wine storage is rarely limited to a standard set of components.

Which Extras Do You Actually Need?

You do not need to add every option. A simple solid timber wine wall may need nothing more than good racking and carefully chosen lighting. A fully enclosed wine room intended for long-term storage may require considerably more planning.

The best starting point is to tell us where the wine storage will be, its approximate dimensions, how many bottles you want to store and what you want the finished space to look like. We can then help you identify which extras genuinely add value to the project.
